Megaways and a foul-mouthed teddy bear – what’s not to like!
Blueprint deliver a sequel to their first Ted release, tying in with the big gross-out comedy hit, with the Megaways engine from Big Time Gaming that is taking over the slot world.
That engine already throws a lot of extra features into the mix, and Blueprint haven’t gone much further than that with the features on this game, which will be a disappointment to some online video slots fans.
Free spins are themed as Thunder Buddies free spins, while every win triggers a cascade (a feature that is common to all Megaways games), there’s also a Thunderwheel to award extra prizes, and mystery symbols in the base game.
The Ted Megaways slot game delivers on aesthetics though, with the bear spouting out relatively family-friendly epithets from a seat in the corner of the screen where he sucks on a beer. The reels are the standard Megaways set-up, which is to say not at all standard, and the game plays beautifully, with a symbol set that’s true to the feeling of the film.
You can also win big prizes, with a 50,000-times stake top prize that will keep you and your imaginary friends in beer for a good few years we should imagine.
But do you want to invite this gross character back into your home?
Let’s have a closer look.
This game comes from Blueprint. This company is rated as the third most popular and visible in the UK market with more than 200 games to its name (202 of them slots). The company is licensed and legal and has been churning out Megaways remakes of its old games lately, including big hit Fishin’ Frenzy. They also have tie-ins like this title (their third most popular game right now) and Deal or No Deal in a Megaways version.
The company is licensed and legal and you can play their games with confidence that you’ll get a good experience.
Ted Megaways was released on July 30th, 2020.
The theoretical return to player of Ted Megaways is 96.03%. This is a house edge of 3.97%. This figure is very acceptable by current market standards. RTP measures the likely return to players as a percentage of all the money gambled on a machine. It is measured with simulated spins than assume certain player behaviours and over a theoretical period of time of many years. You should not treat this number as a prediction.
Megaways means lots of reels and lots of ways to win. Here we have six vertical reels with a potential maximum of seven symbols on each. A further reel runs across the top of this set with four symbols on it. Megaways calculates wins without pay lines, so there are the usual maximum number here, 117,649. While this is a nice figure to look at, it doesn’t really alter the player’s chance of winning.
This game is themed on comedy, Hollywood movies, movies, and adult humour. It is a sequel.
You can play Ted Megaways on any device that allows HTML5 and JavaScript to run.
The variance or volatility of this game is high. High volatility games should pay out – on average – larger prizes, but prizes should be awarded less frequently. There is no hit rate published for this game. Again, you should regard this rating as a general guide rather than a prediction.
You can bet between 0.1 coins and 10 coins on Ted Megaways. This should equate to 10p to £10 in UK sites, but please make sure that you check out all the financial limits on the game you actually play.
There’s a load of bonus features on Ted Megaways. Free spins, cascading wins, Megaways, multipliers, mystery symbols, scatters, and wilds. There’s a gamble on free spins and a non-resetting multiplier with no upper limit. You can retrigger via a symbol collection.
There’s a feature buy option, but it’s not available in the UK.
If you’ve played any slots you’ll soon find your way around Ted Megaways.
The Big Green Spin button sits to the right of the reels with a bet total control to the left of them. Under the spin wheel are the auto and turbo spin controls, with the information button above it.
The pay table opens on 9s to Aces, paying out a maximum of 1.5-times stake for a full set of six. Then you have beer bottles paying out up to 2-times stake, a goose paying 2.5-times stake, the girlfriend paying out 5-times stake, and the game logo paying up to 50-times stake.
Mystery Ted’s can be triggered on any spin (Ted shoots a gun), adding up to 100 symbols to the reels. Scatters trigger free spins, with extra symbols being the four needed to set off the round giving you more Megaways. During the free spins round, you can collect Ted symbols to add more Megaways and trigger extra free spins. You can gamble on the Thunder Wheel to win a better combination of spins and Megaways.
We like this game. Blueprint produce a reliably good product and we like this style of humour. If it’s your sort of film you’ll surely enjoy a game based on it.
There’s great gameplay potential in this game, with lots of bonus features that keep the interest high throughout the stages of play. High volatility games put some people off. We don’t think they should – safe play should be the first thing on your mind whatever the game – and Ted can be played for small stakes, which we always recommend.
Give Ted a cuddle today! Burp!
